COLLAB GROUPS

What is a collab group?
A collab group is a group of writers who meet on a regular basis to share their work with each other and receive feedback. This also means a commitment to reading the work of other writers and providing thoughtful feedback on their work.
What are the benefits?
Collab groups have lots of advantages, including gaining multiple points of view from other writers on a piece of work, a group of people committed to giving you advice if you have specific concerns, and the opportunity to critically read the work of others, which helps develop your critical eye and refine your own taste as a reader and writer.
How do NWS collab groups work?
Joining a collab group through NWS:
If you decide you'd like to join a collab group, fill out the form below. Please make sure that you scroll down and click submit when you have completed the form.
We will get in contact with you to let you know if there is already established group you can join, and if not, what we can do to support in helping you to be part of a collab group.
When we have matched you with a suitable group, we will contact you again to introduce you to the other members of your collab group with some guidance at how it will operate.
The group leader will update you on meeting times and submission dates - then you are all ready to go!
The NWS Team will always be on hand to support with finding the right collab group, but unfortunately does not have the resources to run them themselves. We can put you in touch with other writers and provide guidance in how they are run. Collab groups are self-sustaining and self-run. However, we can offer you free use of the NWS Zoom account for online group meetings.
Please get in touch with us over email at admin@nottinghamwritersstudio.co.uk if you have any questions. Please include the words ‘Collab Groups’ in the subject line of your email to help us respond to you more quickly.
Happy writing!
