Nottingham Poetry Week is just around the corner and we’re super excited.
There’s a huge list of great events planned, including some at our very own Studio.
So let’s take a look at what we’ve got coming up over the next couple of weeks…
Rhyme and Rebellion
Ignite your inspiration with poet and performer Leanne Moden.
You’ll get the opportunity to take your work in new directions and find creative ways to get rid of that pesky writer’s block!
Keep up with the conversation on Twitter using #rhymeandrebellion.
21 April, 2pm – 4pm
How to Get Your Poetry Published
Taught by our very own Teika Bellamy of Mother’s Milk Books, in this workshop you’ll discover what steps you need to take to get your poetry out there.
If you’re a poet and would one day love to see your work in print (even if you’re not quite ready yet), this workshop is perfect for you.
25 April, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
How to Win Writing Competitions
Ok so this one isn’t poetry exclusive, but if you’ve ever wondered how to win writing competitions, it’s a must-attend.
Writing competitions can be a hugely beneficial part of a writer’s life. They can help boost your profile and readership, get you other writing opportunities, and even earn you some money. Some writers even make a living from entering and winning writing competitions.
However, to get to that level, you need to know what you’re doing.
And Char March is the perfect person to teach you. She’s won over 30 writing competitions in the last year, and in this one-day workshop she’s going to teach you how you can replicate her success.
Refreshments and a buffet lunch are included.
28 April, 10am – 4pm
That’s it for this month!
