Freelance Programmes Officer

Rate of pay: £14 p/h

Location: 25 Hockley, NG1 1FH and flexible home-working

Contract length: Ongoing

Nottingham Writers’ Studio is seeking a new Freelance Programmes Officer. This role is for 10 hours per week and comprises being responsible for the NWS programme of events, social media channels and some parts of the website. This includes event promotion, event hosting, devising the programme of events alongside the development manager and chair of the board, event administration, writing the NWS newsletter, liaising and networking with tutors, managing event listings on external channels and collating feedback and statistics. You will also be sharing responsibility of the day-to-day running of the Studio which includes membership queries, inductions, organising the room for event hire and fostering a strong relationship with The Carousel (the organisation who’re responsible for running the building).

The ideal contractor will have:

  • Marketing experience and/or qualifications
  • Experience running social media channels for business
  • Event organisation experience and/or qualifications
  • Experience using, I.T programmes including Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Experience using WordPress and Mail Chimp
  • A high level of general IT software literacy
  • Some knowledge of the creative scene, either in Nottingham specifically or in the UK in general
  • A personal interest in creative writing would be an advantageous but is not essential

  • Be a problem solver, able to think on your feet
