Writing from images
13 July @ 10:00 - 16:00
In this interactive workshop, participants will use creative-based mediums and collage techniques as springboards for new and exciting story ideas.
Using collage techniques and images from magazines and books, you’ll be working on a series of collages to help develop ideas around character, setting and plot, culminating in a master collage that represents your overall synopsis. Steve will then show you a series of moving images to help get you thinking about emotion in your writing before you take part in short writing sprints.
The aim of the course is to help generate ideas from different sources (Steve is a visual writer who is inspired by images either from his imagination or from the printed page, art or film), inspire playfulness and help us to better visualise our stories.
This is a perfect workshop to help generate new ideas for stories and is aimed at both young aspiring writers or those with a little more experience.
- Workshop 1 will run from 10 am until 12 pm and is aimed at children & teens.
- Workshop 2 will run from 2 pm – 4 pm and is for adults aged 18+
