The Thursday Coach with Gabriela Blandy
10 January, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every month that begins at 6:30pm on day Second of the month, repeating until 11 April, 2019
About the event
The Thursday Coach is a free, monthly Life Coaching workshop for writers and artists interested in refining their creative practice. These sessions won’t just benefit your writing, they will help you handle the stresses of everyday life in a more skilful way. Coaching enables you to foster a conscious and creative mindset. Let go of who you think you should be, and learn to engage at a deeper level of authenticity in order to be the artist you truly are.
The workshops will run on the second Thursday of every month throughout 2018 and have been made possible by a donation from a private client who was stunned by the impact life coaching had on their creative life and wanted to enable others to feel the benefit of such work. Throughout the coming months we will be looking at some common obstacles to writing, and taking you through invaluable tools to shed your fears and step into your potential.
The sessions are run by Writer and Life Coach Gabriela Blandy. In November’s session, we will be looking at ‘The Challenge of Saying No’.
About Gabriela Blandy
Gabriela has been coaching since 2015 and working with writers and artists for over a decade. She trained with The Coaching Academy, where she received a distinction. She has been awarded the Royal Society of Literature V. S. Pritchett award and is published alongside Sarah Waters in Virago’s collection of ghostly tales, Something was There. She worked for over four years as the Assistant Director of The Hurst, a retreat for writers based in Shropshire. She has an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction, and co-founded writLOUD, a literary event based in London (now called Hubbub).
For the last two years Gabriela has also been training with a Shaman to deepen her understanding of how we can use our minds to create the world we want. As well as her workshops, she offers private sessions for individuals wishing to go deeper into their professional development and realise their creative dreams. Working with a Life Coach is a decision that says: I’m ready to shift from being an amateur to a professional, and Gabriela is ready to help anyone who wants to take that step.

What you think
“No one would have believed, on a Thursday evening in June, that human beings were being steered through the timeless worlds of the Divine Comedy – not by not Virgil, but by Gabriela Blandy, The Thursday Coach. Supported by models, metaphors and honesty, challenged by Gabriela’s questions, this particular Dante emerged from her very own Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso with new energy and a Plan of Action. It was an excellent non-writing writing workshop and I cannot recommend it strongly enough. Come to the next session to find out for yourself; robe and staff optional.”
