The Use of Time in Narrative Writing
20 July @ 18:30 - 20:30
About this Event
Join published children’s author, songwriter, and creative writing tutor Cathy Lesurf for a 2-hour masterclass focused on the use of time in narrative writing.
Cathy will guide you through the many different structures you can use to best serve your narrative from chronological to flashbacks and even alternating flashbacks.
Through a variety of writing exercises, activities and discussions, you’ll also explore how your chosen structure impacts other essential aspects of your writing, including pacing, structure, suspense, choice of tense, and selecting a linear or non-linear timeline.
The overall aim is to help you consider, practice, and play with the use of tense and time to level up your writing.
