The Screenwriter’s Essential Toolkit with Adrian Reynolds
2 February, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Got an idea for a feature film and want to know how to develop it? Think you’ve written a book that could work well as a tv series? Want to add a string to your bow that could lead you to work in one of the most exciting and lucrative areas of writing? This course will support your ambitions with regard to screenwriting, which requires a fundamentally different approach from most other forms, while still being rooted in storytelling. We’ll be exploring how to convey a narrative with images, what structures work well for those stories, and what it’s like to be part of a team producing a blueprint that others will have input into as your work goes from script to having actors and a crew involved. You’ll be invited to develop a short piece, and Adrian Reynolds will do a 60 minute 1:1 session with participants at the end of the course to provide tailored guidance on specific projects and the industry.
Adrian Reynolds has written drama for BBC TV, acclaimed short films, and is the co-creator with an East Midlands artist of an animation project in development with international partners. He scripts a science fiction comic, online at dadtown.net, and ghost-wrote a comic series that got media coverage worldwide.
This is a 6 week course comprising of five workshop sessions plus a 1:1 session sometime during the weekend of the 4th and 5th March.
