In Conversation with NWS Members: Writing Non-Fiction with Nick Sturgeon
14 January @ 18:30 - 19:15
About this Event
NWS introduces a new series of workshops, “In Conversation with NWS Members” where we invite members of our talented cohort of writers to talk about their writing style, process, and works-in-progress!
To start off, we welcome Nick Sturgeon for a 45-minute introductory session on writing non-fiction. Nick writes non-fiction and how-to books and will share with you some obvious routes into this genre as well as specific techniques for you to consider and then implement. Following this discussion, Nick will open the floor up so that you can ask any burning questions about the world of non-fiction writing!
Throughout the session, you will…
- Get to grips with non-fiction
- Learn how to turn your knowledge into a product people will buy
- Understand how to structure your ideas
- Explore selling to the marketplace and how to develop your product
Nick Sturgeon wrote his first non-fiction books back in 2003 to 2006 on various themes around property investment and being a landlord. These were traditionally published with Pearson FT and How To Books. More recently he has formed his own publishing business and is creating how-to books around personal finance, frugal living, generating a side hustle, and how to create lifestyle choices.
He is a Patron of NWS.
