Honing and Experimenting with Style

3 September @ 18:30 - 20:30

About this Event

This two hour masterclass is for established or emerging writers who have been writing for some time. We will look at the two main categories of styles that sentences are written in, the additive style and the subordinating style, and consider what effect they have on pace and atmosphere in fiction, using examples from writers like Jane Austen, Henry James, J. D. Salinger, Virginia Woolf, and Ford Madox Ford.

By the end of the session, you will have gained new style tools for your writers toolkit that you can use and experiment with in your own creative practice.
