Harnessing emotion: arcs, plots and character engagement
12 December @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
About the event
This session, led by award-winning author Bali Rai, will focus on how emotion can be used to create better story arcs and stronger plots for novels. The workshop will delve into the importance of understanding a character’s primary motivations for engaging with a plot, namely their emotional motivation for getting involved in the drama about to unfold. When faced with perilous or difficult situations, why do characters engage? Why not just turn away? Emotion is the best seed for producing fantastic story arcs and Bali’s workshop will show why and how.
