Join writer and lecturer, Alex Davies for a two-hour session looking at how to get your short stories published including the essentials of research and submission guidelines as well as how to keep improving your writing!
This workshop will look at the market for short stories, how to research the best opportunities for your work, and how to optimise your chances of publication with short fiction.
The session includes plenty of practical tips in the field, as well as creative advice on how to develop the best short tales you can.
By the end of the session, you will…
- Establish good principles for creating short stories
- Identify the market for short stories in magazines/anthologies
- Look at the research elements of getting your stories published
- Understand submission guidelines and their importance
About Alex Davies
Alex Davis is a creative writing lecturer and tutor with 15 years of experience across a wide range of fields. As a writer, he has had one novel and three non-fiction books published to date, as well as more than 50 short stories and poems. He is also the originator and co-ordinator of the popular Edge-Lit festival.
