Welcome to the Nottingham Writers' Studio

nws hot desk

Nottingham Writers’ Studio is a vibrant community of writers based in Nottingham city centre providing space, networking, and creative and professional development opportunities for its members.

It's run by writers for writers, and is dedicated to the support and development of all forms of creative writing.

What are we writing? Sample our write-bites.

The Studio offers a quiet space where writers can come to work, meet, and attend workshops and other events. How to find us.

As well as monthly socials with talks from respected authors, we run writing groups and courses, host a quarterly live literature event Word of Mouth, and organise Nottingham Writers' Days, a series of intensive one-day writing workshops.

Membership is open to committed writers living in or connected with Nottingham. Current members include novelists, poets, songwriters, scriptwriters, copywriters, playwrights and publishers at all stages of their careers.

'The most productive thing I've ever done', read what our members say!

We also provide Tenant Writer Offices for rent.

Crowdfunding for Bursaries: Support the Next Generation of Writers!

We are running a thirty-day funding campaign for six bursaries in 2012 to help a new generation of writers get to the next stage in their writing careers.

You can help us reach our target of £1,350 by supporting our campaign on WeDidThis with as little as £5.

Each bursary gives the recipient a year's free membership of Nottingham Writers' Studio, mentoring sessions, a free place on a Writers' Day, and a performance opportunity.

People receiving bursaries this year have already benefited by gaining in confidence, mingling with professional authors, getting chances to discuss work with peers and develop new skills.

To find out more and support our campaign, visit our page on WeDidThis.
